<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing attendance management even when a failure occurs on a server or a network, and reducing the load of an employee etc. to cope with such the case. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a management means for performing attendance management of a user based on the authentication of the user, and a detection means for detecting the occurrence of the failure on the server or the network. On the occurrence of the failure, the image forming apparatus further includes an output means for outputting the content of the attendance management as a certificate. By this, even when the server or the network falls down, the attendance management can be performed using the image forming apparatus, and the certificate on the content of the attendance management can easily be issued.
