PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintenance of a liquid ejection head capable of performing a maintenance process suitable for an inkjet head equipped with a nozzle having a polygonal plane shape such as a square plane shape, and also to provide a liquid ejection device. SOLUTION: When a nozzle forming face of the inkjet head with the nozzle 12 having a square plane shape is wiped, a blade is moved along a wiping direction A forming an angleα(≤π/8 radian) with a side-direction B of the nozzle 12 to prevent ink from leaking from a corner of the nozzle 12 and also to prevent ink or the like from entering into the corner thereof from the nozzle forming face.
