PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant protein derived from genes encoding toxin A and toxin B of Clostridium difficile (C.difficile) regarding medical immunology, and also to provide a vaccine active against C.difficile using the protein. SOLUTION: The protein component contained in the immunogenic composition includes at least one repeating unit (rARU) of Clostridium difficile toxin A or at least one repeating unit (rBRU) of Clostridium difficile toxin B, or at least one repeating unit of each of toxins A and B.
