<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of an adhesive even if a panel member has a thermal expansion coefficient larger than the thermal expansion coefficient of a reinforcement, in a method of manufacturing a motor vehicle body 1 hardening the adhesive interposed between a panel member and the reinforcement by the heat for drying coating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A roof reinforcement 7 is deformed so as to press a mastic sealer 9 against a roof panel 6 with the thermal expansion of the roof panel 6 on the basis of energizing force applied in advance. Even if the roof panel 6 is thermally expanded, the mastic sealer 9 continues to be pressed against the roof panel 6 by deformation on the basis of the energizing force of the roof reinforcement 7.
