<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately sort a C channel signal into speakers other than a center speaker while respecting an intent of a producer of the sound content. <P>SOLUTION: A correlation evaluation part 211L calculates a correlation coefficient between the C channel signal and an L channel signal. In addition, a correlation evaluation part 211R calculates a correlation coefficient between the C channel signal and an R channel signal. Continuously, a sorting coefficient determination part 212A determines a first sorting coefficient of a separation channel signal SCD<SB>C</SB>into the C channel and a second sorting coefficient of the separation channel signal SCD<SB>C</SB>into the L channel and the R channel based on the calculated correlation coefficient. Then, a sorting processing part 215A sorts the separation channel signal SCD<SB>C</SB>into the C channel, the L channel, and the R channel according to the first and second determined sorting signals.
