<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viewing restriction method and system for allowing simple and exact viewing restriction by each viewer based on rating information without requiring complicated input operations. <P>SOLUTION: The viewing restriction system includes: a STB (set top box) 1 as a viewing device; a monitor 2 which reproduces the content such as moving images and still images received by the STB 1; a user terminal 3 which performs a remote operation of the STB 1 by wireless communication; and a manager terminal 4 which approves or refuses registration of the user terminal 3 in the STB 1 as a remote control terminal of the STB 1. A terminal ID and user attributes (including age) of the user terminal 3 whose registration is permitted is registered in the STB 1, and after that, when a viewing request is received from the user terminal 3, the age of a user is identified based on the terminal ID. When the age of the user exceeds the age restricted by the rating information, viewing of the content is permitted, and the content is reproduced on the monitor 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
