<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining an efficient cooling effect by reducing the air volume loss of a cooling gas. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a cooling structure for cooling a processing unit 4 arranged in an apparatus body 100 by a gas. The cooling structure includes unit-side cooling ducts 46, 47 and 48 disposed in the processing unit 4; body-side cooling ducts 60, 61 and 62 attached to the apparatus body 100, guiding the gas into the unit-side cooling ducts 46, 47 and 48 and having a flow path cross-sectional area different from that of the unit-side cooling ducts 46, 47 and 48; and duct connecting members 70, 71 and 72 connecting the unit-side cooling ducts 46, 47 and 48 and the body-side cooling ducts 60, 61 and 62, to communicate them. The duct connecting members 70, 71 and 72 have a tapered flow path for communicating the flow paths of the unit-side cooling ducts 46, 47 and 48 and the flow paths of the body-side cooling ducts 60, 61 and 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
