<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for saving on resources of document rendering device. <P>SOLUTION: Threshold parameter data of acceptable resource usage levels in a document rendering device, and default setting data corresponding to the threshold parameters, are stored in a data storage. Electronic document data and request data of desired settings for rendering the document on the device are received. Settings associated with the request data are compared with threshold parameters corresponding to the parameter data. A notification is generated on determination that the settings associated with the request data exceed the threshold parameters. The user is then prompted relative to an alternative setting of the device in accordance with the notification. When confirmation of the acceptability of an alternative setting is received from the user, the operation of the device is enabled in accordance with alternative setting data, and a document rendering operation is performed by the document rendering device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
