P/V RATIO DETERMINING METHOD OF INKJET INK COMPOSITION FOR COLOR FILTER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COLOR FILTER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a P/V (pigment/vehicle) ratio determining method of an ink composition having highly accurate desired chromaticity coordinates in a desired film thickness of a color filter.

SOLUTION: The P/V ratio determining method includes processes for: applying an testing ink composition on two or more substrates and film-forming the testing ink composition using a spin coater to obtain films having film thickness different from each other; drying each film-formed film; curing each dried film; drawing two crossing lines on each cured film; performing spectrometry of two or more points selected from four regions divided by the two lines and belonging to different regions in each film; measuring film thickness of an intersection point of the lines of each cured film; calculating a film thickness by which desired chromaticity coordinates can be obtained in a P/V ratio of the testing ink composition from each spectrometry measuring result and film thickness measuring result; and calculating a P/V ratio by which desired chromaticity coordinates in a desired film thickness can be obtained from relations of the P/V ratio of the testing ink composition, the desired chromaticity coordinates and the calculated film thickness.
