<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder device having a so-called first-fill function for supplying a large amount of brake fluid in initial operation to generate high fluid pressure, when the brake fluid is supplied to brake devices such as a disk brake or a drum brake of an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: The first-fill type master cylinder device has a stepped cylinder and a stepped piston inserted into the stepped cylinder for dividing the inside of the stepped cylinder into an auxiliary chamber 11 and a main pressure chamber 9. A valve is arranged in the radial direction of the stepped piston in a flow passage which communicates the auxiliary chamber with a reservoir, and a valve lever is arranged in a clearance between the valve and an inner surface of the cylinder. The master cylinder device uses level difference formed on a cylinder inner peripheral surface to make the valve vertically move by the action of the valve and the valve lever to provide a valve mechanism for opening/closing the flow passage. That solves a problem wherein a valve device is opened by the fluid pressure in the auxiliary chamber, even if a pedal-stepping speed is fast. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
