PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat antenna which is easily mounted on a digital household electronic appliance and has low VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) and a wide bandwidth. SOLUTION: The antenna has a ground plate 11 having a nearly linear flat portion 11a on at least a part of an outer edge, a feed point 13 which is connected to the flat portion 11a and to which high-frequency electric power is fed, and a radiation element 12 folded back once in a channel shape and receiving electricity from the feed point 13 at the bottom portion 12a of U shape. The bottom portion 12a of U shape is disposed substantially parallel to the flat portion 11a, the feed point 13 is arranged at a position of <10% of the width W of the ground plate 11 in a specified direction parallel to the flat portion 11a from the center 51 of the ground plate 11 in the specified direction, and the distance from the open end portion 12d of a top portion 12c of U shape to the feed point 13 in the specified direction is <30% of the width W of the ground plate 11.
