PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a resin mold stamper by which the number of discrete track media and bit pattern media manufactured on the basis of a nickel metal mold can be increased more drastically than heretofore so as to attain significant cost reduction, to provide the resin mold stamper, to provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium, and to provide the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the resin mold stamper includes: a process for manufacturing SOG (Spin On Glass) metal mold stamper for manufacturing an SOG metal mold 260 by imprinting a reverse pattern nickel metal mold 230 having a prescribed pattern in an SOG 250; and a process for manufacturing resin type stamper for manufacturing the resin mold stamper 132 by nano-casting a resin by the SOG metal mold 260.
