PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly guide the rear end of a sheet reaching a sheet pressing member to the lower side of the sheet pressing member even if the sheet carried in a first direction from a tray is inversely sent in a second direction. SOLUTION: A printer 11 includes a paper feeding tray 20. A flap 17 is extended toward the paper feeding tray 20. The flap 17 presses recording paper downward by allowing its chip 118 to abut on an upper surface of the recording paper. A guide surface 127 is formed at the chip 118. An inclined guide 133 is also formed at the chip 118. The inclined guide 133 is inclined in a circular arc shape toward a second direction 66 side in a direction for separating upward from the upper surface of the recording paper as the guide progresses toward a side end 131 from the center of the chip 118. When the recording paper inversely sent in return registration reaches the chip 118, the rear end (the chip in inversely sending) of the recording paper is guided by the guide surface 127, and creeps into the lower side of the flap 17.
