<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which does not absorb light in a visible light region, does not affect the colors of products, has an excellent ultraviolet ray-absorbing ability over a wide ultraviolet ray wavelength region, and can be used as a water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorbent.
