Disclosed is a setting device (1) for moving sliding elements (5) in a character displaying module. The sliding elements are retained in display ducts of the character displaying module and can be moved from a first position in which front faces of the sliding elements are visible on a visible surface (7) of the character displaying module (4), into a second position in which said front faces are disposed in a substantially invisible manner at a distance behind the visible surface (7) within the character displaying module. In order to be able to flexibly and quickly set any number of a series of characters on the character displaying module, at least one receptacle (8) is provided for the character displaying module that is to be set. Furthermore, a setting means (3) which causes the sliding elements to move when the character displaying module is inserted into the receptacle (8) is arranged inside the receptacle (8). |
