The invention relates to a turnbuckle (4) for securing two wire-shaped end sections (6, 7) of a lateral strand (3) of a non-skid chain (1) for a wheel of a vehicle, the lateral strand having a pulling element (5), comprising a housing (11, 21, 41), in which at least one displaceable retaining piece (15, 25, 45) is received, wherein the at least one wire-shaped end section can be temporarily secured by means of the at least one retaining piece. A displaceable mass piece (12, 22, 42) is disposed in the housing (11, 21, 41), the piece being displaced radially outward, at least in sections, from an idle position when the tire is at a standstill under the action of the centrifugal force upon rotation of the wheel, and this displacement brings about a blocking of the at least one end section (6, 7) of the tensioning element. |
