<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine superior in ignitability and combustion stability. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device includes an oxidation catalyst 13 disposed in an engine exhaust passage for purifying exhaust gas, a glow plug 51 disposed on the further upstream side than the oxidation catalyst 13 in the engine exhaust passage and having a heat generating part 51a, and a fuel supply valve 15 disposed on a further upstream side than the glow plug 51 for injecting fuel toward the fuel generating part 51a. A plate-like member 52 for capturing the fuel passing the side of the heat generating part 51a without directly colliding with the heat generating part 51a and reflecting the fuel toward the heat generating part 51a is disposed in the engine exhaust passage which is in the fuel injecting direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
