<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator providing a large energy saving effect without deteriorating cooling performance due to the uncomplete closure of a door by a repulsive force of a seal body as in a conventional double seal method by a flexible structure having a simple configuration and a sponge body, heat insulation, and favorable sealing performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises a gasket 11 having an attaching part 13 to the opening peripheral edge 2a of a body and comprising soft resin, a mounting part 15 to an inner side peripheral edge of a door 9 blocking an opening, and a bag-like part 16 connecting the attaching part to the mounting part and having a heat insulation space extending to an inner side of a storage compartment 6, a sponge seal body 21 positioned at a storage compartment inner side of the gasket and stuck like a band to an outer face 17 of the bag-like part between the inside and an opening peripheral edge 4a of the storage compartment. The refrigerator is characterized in that, at door closing, the attaching part of the gasket is closely contacted to the opening peripheral edge, and the sponge seal body is compressively deformed and closely contacts with an opening circumference in a storage compartment side by an attaching force of the gasket.
