The present invention is to provide a navigation device having a function of starting a route re-searching early by predicting a route change of a vehicle from a recommended route. A navigation device is formed such that when guiding a vehicle by virtue of a recommended approaching route and a recommended exit route both connected to a branching point, and once the vehicle traveling from the recommended approaching route and heading for the branching point is about to deviate from the recommended exit route, said navigation device starts a route re-searching for finding a new recommended route going through other route. The navigation device detects that a turning angle &thetas;x of the vehicle is about to be in a direction within an angle range not including an angle formed between the direction &thetas;a of the recommended approaching route and the direction &thetas;b of the recommended exit route, and starts a route re-searching to find a new recommended route going through other route existing within an angle range excluding an angle formed between the directions &thetas;a and &thetas;b.
