PURPOSE: A fault detecting method of a superconductor power cable is provided to easily detect a defect in a superconducting power cable by measuring a induction ratio of a current flowing in a conductive layer and a shield layer. CONSTITUTION: In a fault detecting method of a superconductor power cable, a superconducting power cable comprises a conductive layer and a shield layer. The conductive layer is comprised of the superconducting wire. The induction ratio of the current flowing in the conductive layer and the shield layer is measured. The induction ratio of the current in a normal operation is compared with the induction ratio of the measured current. The defect in the superconducting power cable is detected. |
