<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which is driven at a low voltage, and has high light emission luminance and long service life. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting element has a pair of a first electrode and a second electrode and a light emission portion disposed between the first electrode and second electrode, and the light emission portion is constituted by arranging a light emitting particle having a part of a semiconductor of a first conductivity type and a part of a semiconductor of a second conductivity type between the first and second electrodes. In the light emitting particle, a part of the semiconductor of the first conductivity type which is exposed to a particle surface is brought into contact with the first electrode and a part of the semiconductor of the second conductivity type exposed to the particle surface is brought into contact with the second electrode. In the first electrode, a part other than the part coming into contact with the semiconductor of the first conductivity type of the light emitting particle is covered with an insulator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
