<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system of notifying incoming data, a network device, and a method of notifying incoming data, which are capable of notifying reception when facsimile data is received. <P>SOLUTION: When a receiving apparatus 11 (a facsimile apparatus or the like) receives facsimile data or automatic telephone message sound (incoming data 4), the incoming data is transmitted to a terminal apparatus 31. When the terminal apparatus 31 receives the incoming data, first of all, the incoming data 4 is transmitted to a server 51 via an Internet network 3, and stored in the server 51. Next, the server 51 transmits an incoming notification to the effect that the server 51 stores the incoming data to a client 71. On receiving the incoming notification, the client 71 accesses the server 51 to refer to the incoming data.
