<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new asymmetrical hollow fiber membrane for gas separation, which has a high separation ratio of particularly oxygen from nitrogen, has excellent mechanical properties, can be manufactured with excellent reproducibility, is stable in performance in use conditions, is suited to a nitrogen enriching membrane and an oxygen enriching membrane, and is formed of aromatic polyimide. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gas separation membrane includes aromatic polyimide formed of a specific repeating unit using diaminodichlorodiphenyl ethers as the aromatic diamine component.
