A non-aqueous electrolyte for a secondary battery and a secondary battery comprising the non-aqueous electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolyte includes a non-aqueous organic solvent, a lithium salt, and as an additive, a compound represented by Formula 1: wherein R1 to R6, which may be the same or different from each other, are selected from substituted and unsubstituted C1-C4 alkyl, alkoxy and alkenyl groups. The secondary battery has excellent cycle life characteristics and high discharge capacity at low temperature.
