PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof construction method of a reservoir which makes possible a simple structure of a balance device, which does not require time or cost for preparation and execution, and which is excellent in its ability to control the inclination of a roof during flotation. SOLUTION: In the roof construction method of the reservoir, the roof of the reservoir is assembled at the bottom of the interior of a side plate which has been cylindrically assembled on the bottom plate of the reservoir. Then air is supplied to the bottom interior of the roof, and the roof is floated along the side plate and is joined to the upper end of the side panel. A weight is arranged in the lower position of the barycenter which is directly under the center of the roof, and the weight is made the balance device by being connected to the entire perimeter of the outer periphery of the roof by a lifting member.
