PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for receiving content data to be transmitted to a target external device, more safely. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes: a communication unit for performing communication with one or more external devices; a storage unit for storing device information including first authentication information used in authentication for selectively transmitting content data to the external device to which the content data can be transmitted; an authentication unit for authenticating the external device that has transmitted a processing request on the basis of second authentication information included in the processing request transmitted from the external device and the device information stored in the storage unit; a processing unit for selectively performing processing corresponding to the processing request on the basis of the result of the authentication unit; and a data transmitting unit for selectively transmitting content data to the external device which has transmitted the processing request and is authenticated by the authentication unit, on the basis of the result of the processing unit.
