<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and highly productive method of producing a multilayered coating film and a simple and highly productive method of applying a coating liquid in multiple layers, with no need of using a gelling agent for adjusting viscosity, or the like in a large amount. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of producing a multilayered coating film including a process of applying a plurality of coating liquids of an organic-solvent type in multiple layers on a face of a tilting slide beforehand and transferring the resulting multiple layers of the coating liquids onto a substrate, is characterized by exclusively using a rheopectic coating liquid showing a ratio in a range of 5 to 8, of viscosity measured at a shear rate of 20S<SP>-1</SP>relative to the viscosity measured at a shear rate of 10S<SP>-1</SP>using a B-type viscometer at a temperature of 25°C.
