<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fire alarm which can be made compact and thin. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A smoke detection part 1 is provided with a wall body 12 that prevents external rays of light from being made incident on the smoke detecting part 1; a light-emitting element 22 for emitting the rays of light to the inside of the smoke detecting part 1; and a light-receiving element 23 for receiving the rays of light emitted from the light-emitting element 22. A fire-discriminating part 3 decides that there is a fire, on the basis of the light quantity of the light-receiving element 23 received; and changing due to smoke flowing in the smoke detection part 25, which is the polymerization section of an emission range 22b of the light-emitting element 22 and a light-receiving range 23b of the light-receiving element 23, and a battery 30 is installed so that a section that avoids the emission range of the light-emitting element 22 to the smoke detecting part 25 and the light-receiving range of the light-emitting element 23 up to the smoke detecting part 25 in the smoke detecting part 1 can be notched.
