<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable resistor improving an engagement property of an adjusting tool by securing large insertion depth of the adjusting tool such as a screwdriver, and reducing deformation of a folding part of a flange part in adjustment turning. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This variable resistor includes an adjustment knob 48 that is structured such that a first flange part 43 is formed around a shaft part 42; a second flange part 44 and a third flange part 45 are integrally formed at both ends of the first flange part; the second flange part 44 is superposed on the first flange part 43; the third flange part 45 is superposed on the second flange part 44; and an insertion hole 46 formed on the second flange part 44 is faced to an insertion hole 47 formed on the third flange part 45.
