The present invention discloses a portable device with proximity sensors. The disclosed portable device includes a shield plate for blocking a specific impedance applied from the direction where the proximity sensors sense the approach of an object so that the proximity sensors may sense the approach of the object with the same sensitivity regardless of changes in the surroundings. In addition, the invention prevents the malfunction of the portable device by deactivating the sensor near an electric conductor even though the portable terminal is turned over and placed on the surface of a substance such as the electric conductor which causes low impedance.
