<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide customized patient-specific acetabular orthopedic surgical instruments and a method for using such orthopaedic surgical instruments. <P>SOLUTION: The customized patient-specific orthopedic instrument for facilitating implantation of an acetabular cup prosthesis in a coxal bone of a patient, the customized patient-specific orthopaedic instrument includes: a customized patient-specific acetabular reaming guide 50 including (i) a body 58 having a longitudinal passageway defined therein, (ii) a plurality of arms 56 extending from the body, and (iii) a plurality of feet 54 configured to contact a coxal bone of a patient, each foot of the plurality of feet 54 being coupled to a corresponding arm 56 of the plurality of arms 56, wherein each foot of the plurality of feet 54 is positioned relative to the body 58 based on (i) a predetermined degree of version and inclination angles of the acetabular cup prosthesis when implanted in the patient's coxal bone and (ii) the contour of the coxal bone of the patient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
