<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of 2-hydroxy-4-oxa-5-thiatricyclo[4.2.1.0<SP>3,7</SP>]nonane5,5-dioxide derivative. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a process (A) of hydrolyzing a sulfonyl halide derivative to obtain a sulfonic acid derivative, and a process (B) of treating the sulfonic acid derivative with an oxidizing agent to obtain a corresponding sultone derivative represented by chemical formula 2 [wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>9</SP>are each independently H, 1-10C alkyl, 3-10C cycloalkyl or 1-10C alkoxy (provided that R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>may bond mutually to form a 1-6C alkylene which may include O or S at optional positions, -O-or-S-); and X is F, Cl or Br]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
