PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method for a flat cable and a terminal, which can weld the flat cable to the terminal in a newly manufactured state without attaching foreign matter such as dust or moisture to a surface of a conductor in a welding position. SOLUTION: A contact 8a of a first electrode 8 is pushed to a first thin section 5A formed by removing a portion of an insulating coating 3A which coats one surface of the flat cable 1 and adhesive 4A after the connecting terminal 6 is layered orthogonally on the rectangular conductor 2 integrated in the flat cable 1. A contact 9a of a second electrode 9 is pushed to a second thin section 5B which is formed by removing a portion of the insulating coating 3B which coats the other surface and adhesive 4B through the connecting terminal 6. Resistance welding is carried out to energize the welding position A of the rectangular conductor 2 and the connecting terminal 6 by applying current which is supplied from an energizing unit 10 in between the first electrode 8 and the second electrode 9.
