<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread excellent in wet grip property and low rolling resistance by improving the dispersibility of silica in rubber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition includes silica and rubber as essential components, and the silica is resin-coated silica obtained by coating silica with a resin. A phenol resin is preferable as the resin. Further, it is preferable that the amount of the resin is 0.1-50 wt.% to the amount of the silica, and the surface of the silica has been treated with a silane-coupling agent.
