<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of separating a staple sheet into staple needles and a sheet and cutting the sheet reliably with a cutter. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A shredder includes a cutting means of cutting predetermined parts of a bundle of sheets and a slitting means of separating the cut bundle of the sheets into predetermined numbers of sheets, carrying the separated sheets and splitting the sheets linearly, and can thus prevent troubles associated with bundles of sheets bound with e.g. staples.
