<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit browsing of image data in a memory device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image data display system 1 includes: a memory device 200; a digital camera 100; and a host device 300. The memory device 200 generates encrypted image data E (Dk1, image), encrypted data encryption keys E(K1, Dk1), E(K2, Dk1), uses the respective encryption keys K1/K2 read from a password verification section 208 to decrypt the encrypted data encryption keys E(K1, Dk1), E(K2, Dk1) and uses the decrypted data encryption key Dk1 to decrypt the encrypted image data. The digital camera 100 generates a first encryption key K1 and a second encryption key K2 correspondingly to each of passwords PW1, PW2, sends a pair of PW1 and K1 and a pair of PW2 and K2 to the memory device 200 and photographs an image to generate the image data image and the data encryption key Dk1.
