PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily producing a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer having higher performance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer by adding (meth)acrylic acid to a reaction vessel includes changing the speed of addition of the (meth)acrylic acid at least once under polymerization, wherein the change is preferably carried out within 30 min from the start of the polymerization, so that the addition rate before the change may be smaller than that after the change at least at one speed change.
