<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility and a large current on/off-ratio, and is superior in storage stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer which contains a compound represented by a general formula 1. In the formula 1, X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>9</SB>represent hydrogen, halogen, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or an aryl group, and r and s represent 0 or 1 but do not become 0 simultaneously. A ring A represents a thiophene ring, R<SB>1</SB>represents an alkyl group or an aryl group, R<SB>2</SB>represents hydrogen, halogen, an alkyl group, a straight chain, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or an aryl group, and Y<SB>1</SB>and Y<SB>2</SB>represent -CH=CH- or -C≡C-, and n represents 0 or 1.
