PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small lightweight electric impact tool. SOLUTION: The electric impact tool is provided with: a housing; a trigger switch operated by a user; a motor installed on the housing; a magazine mounted on the housing and supplying nails to a hammering position; a plunger for hammering the nails; a compression spring biasing the plunger in the nail hammering direction; a compression release mechanism receiving rotation of the motor, moving the plunger in the accumulation direction of the spring to release the compression; a detection switch for detecting operation of the compression release mechanism; and a control circuit controlling driving of the motor based on an input of the trigger switch, thereby turning off a no-contact switch, based on an input of the detection switch immediately before hammering.
