The motor has a stator, a rotor rotatably arranged at an outer surface of the stator, and an air gap present between the stator and the rotor. Multiple shell-shaped magnet profiles (5) are attached to a carrier surface of a magnet carrier, which is made of ferrous or sintered material. Longitudinal axes of the profiles are arranged parallel to each other and parallel to a rotor rotational axis. Magnet outer sides (51, 52) of the each profile are formed as cylindrical segments with same radius (R), where one of the magnet outer sides rests against another magnet outer side. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electric motor.
