The damper (1) has a damping cylinder (2) in which a piston plunger (30) is guided via a piston rod (12), where flow of a damper fluid is regulated via a fluid channel by a valve for adjustment of characteristic damper values. The valve is arranged within the piston plunger. The valve includes a bypass fluid channel, and a rotatably supported folding top disk adjusts an effective cross section of the bypass fluid channel for a parameter of the characteristic damper values. The valve includes a main fluid channel that is arranged fluidically parallel to the bypass fluid channel.
