PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition which has an excellent impact strength at -40°C not at the expense of chemical resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical strength inherent in polyphenylene sulfide resins. SOLUTION: The polyphenylenesulfide resin composition is a blend of 0.1-10 pts.wt of (c) an alkoxysilane compound having any one of amino, epoxy, and isocyanate and 100 pts.wt. of a resin composition comprising 99-60 wt.% of (a) a polyphenylene sulfide resin and 1-40 wt.% of (b) an olefinic resin having any one of carboxyl, acid anhydride, amino, hydroxyl, and mercapto, letting the sum of (a) and (b) be 100 wt.%. The process for producing the polyphenylene sulfide resin composition involves melt-kneading (a) the polyphenylene sulfide resin and (c) the alkoxysilane compound having a functional group, and then melt-kneading the mixture with (b) the olefinic resin having a functional group.
