<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose a large size battery while obtaining foot rest capability for an occupant seated on a passenger seat and improving maintainability of the battery, in a saddle-ride type electric vehicle having an electric motor generating the motive power for rotationally driving a rear wheel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A battery 30 is disposed to a space S surrounded by a down frame 15 which is coupled to a front end of a head pipe 13 or of a main frame 14 and which extends downward, pivot frames 16, and the main frame 14. Steps 43 disposed to both sides of the battery 30 in a planar view are provided to front ends of a pair of right and left step frames 42 coupled to the lower portion of the pivot frames 16 and extending forward to overlap with a rear portion of the battery 30 in a planar view.
