<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate fiber having a light weight and high strength, excellent stain resistance and weather resistance, and excellent durability, and further capable of maintaining the high strength for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sheath core conjugate fiber consists of a core component of a molten liquid crystal polymer, and a sheath component of a thermoplastic polymer containing 1-10 mass% metal oxide fine particles having a photo-catalytic activity, and having an area ratio of the core component to the sheath component in a cross-section of the fiber of (50:50) to (90:10).
