<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of smoothly carrying a recording medium between adjacent two carrier belts. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A crescent-shaped guide piece 52 is arranged between a first carrier belt 8 and a second carrier belt 18. Its guide piece 52 is arranged so that its one end side is positioned in the end part vicinity of a flat part of the first carrier belt 8 and the other end side is positioned in the end part vicinity of a flat part of the second carrier belt 18. Thus, recording paper placed on and carried by the flat part of the first carrier belt 8 is smoothly placed on one end side of the guide piece 52, and is carried as it is to the flat part of the second carrier belt 18 while being guided to a curved inner peripheral surface of the guide piece 52 (while changing the carrying direction).
