<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for improving workability of a driving tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The driving tool is provided with: a cam member 137 movable between an operation area projecting a drive member 133 for a driving mechanism installed to advance and retreat and a pause area not projecting the drive member; switching members 167, 168, 169 for switching the cam member 137 to the operation area; and a driving mechanism 115 for performing driving operation of a driving material by mechanically engaging with the drive member 133 for the driving mechanism projected in the rotational axis direction of the drive member 133 for the driving mechanism projected in the rotational axis direction of the rotating member 131 by the cam member 137 when the cam member 137 is placed in the operation area. With this structure, when one moving operation for movement to the pause area is performed again after the cam member 137 moves from the pause area to the operation area, at least two engagement operations for the driving mechanism are applied to the drive member for the driving mechanism and only one of the two engagement operations is made effective.
