<p>The new textile is based on a material (1) which has been consolidated mechanically, thermally and/or chemically. At least one side (22) of the material is coated with a melamine-containing dispersion (3) or a melamine-containing polymer solution. The dispersion (3) comprises a binder, fixer and melamine powder. It is foamed or in paste-form. The coating is in two parts. A proportion penetrates into the material, and a covering layer is formed on the textile base material. At least one side (21) of the material is reinforced with a binder (2). The base material is a fleece, weave, knitted fabric, knitted ware, braid or tufted article. It is a viscose, polyvinyl alcohol or polytetrafluoroethylene material. It is a mixture of one of these with other material(s). At least one organic polymer is included in the mixture, preferably a polyolefin, polyamide or polyester. The mixture includes melamine fibers. The structure (11) is designed to form a cleaning textile. At least on the side coated with the dispersion or polymer solution, a printed pattern of scouring agent is applied. The dispersion or solution is applied in a rotary screen-printing process. Other processes may be used, e.g. the foulard method, spreading blade, spraying, direct roll-coating or slot nozzle coating. The coated material is dried at about 130-150[deg] C. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the method of manufacture.</p> |
