Paraffinic solvents of reduced odour

The odour of paraffinic solvents is reduced by contacting with an adsorbent combination comprising 25-75 wt. per cent alumina and 75-25 wt. per cent of a molecular sieve zeolite X having a pore size of 7-13 rA. The solvent is preferably percolated through the adsorbent at 0.1-5 v./v./hr. The product may be stabilized against odour degradation by the addition of 2-4 pounds of 2-6, di-t-butyl-4-methyl phenol per 1000 gallons of solvent.
