<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving strength detector for accurately calculating a receiving strength of a radio wave and a mobile station positioning system for calculating the position of a mobile station using the receiving strength obtained by the receive strength detector. <P>SOLUTION: An instantaneous value of a receiving strength of a radio wave received in a reception time interval T is measured at predetermined measuring intervals by a receiving strength measuring section 40 (SB1), and a variance σ of instantaneous value strength distribution of the instantaneous values of receiving strengths for each of divided intervals obtained by dividing the reception time interval T by a divided interval distribution calculating section 42 (SB2, SB3), is calculated. On the basis of a value of the variable of the divided interval distribution smaller than a predetermined threshold σ<SB>0</SB>, it is determined by a target interval determination section 44 (SB5) whether or not the divided interval is a receiving strength calculation target interval and on the basis of the distribution of the receive strength for the divided interval determined as the receiving strength calculation target interval, a corrected receiving strength is calculated by a corrected receiving strength calculation section 46 (SB6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
