PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new benzoxazole derivative having a large triplet excitation energy and exhibiting bipolarity.

SOLUTION: This benzoxazole derivative is represented by general formula (G1) (wherein R1and R2are each hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl, or substituted or unsubstituted 6-13C aryl, provided that the substituents may be bonded to each other to form a ring, and the ring structure may be a spiro ring structure; R11to R14are each hydrogen, halogen, 1-4C alkyl, or unsubstituted 6-10 C aryl; any two ofα,β, andγmay be bonded to each other to form one bond to form a carbazole skeleton; and n is 0-3).
